Position: Part-Time Bookkeeper
Location: Buckeye Valley Equipment, Hebron, Ohio
Schedule: 20 hours/week

Buckeye Valley Equipment is looking for a reliable and detail-oriented Part-Time Bookkeeper to join our team. This role involves both bookkeeping and general administrative responsibilities. It’s an excellent opportunity for someone with accounting knowledge who thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform daily cash reconciliation and deposits
  • Manage Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable
  • Provide general administrative support (filing, organizing, data entry, etc.)
  • Process payroll using QuickBooks
  • Assist with additional bookkeeping and office tasks as needed

Qualifications:

  • Basic knowledge of accounting principles
  • Experience using QuickBooks and Payroll software is required
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, etc.)
  • Previous experience in a retail environment is a plus
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment

Gas/Diesel Mechanic

Perform preventative maintenance and repairs to gas and diesel equipment. Perform mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical repairs on equipment such as residential and commercial mowers, compact and full-sized tractors, and small engines.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Diagnose, inspect, and repair gas and diesel equipment.
  • Perform routine preventive maintenance inspections.
  • Troubleshoot issues with gas and diesel engines.
  • Determine parts and tools necessary for mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical repairs.
  • Tear down, inspect and repair engines.
  • Complete service paperwork
  • Parts look-up
  • Engage with customers as needed.
  • Maintain a clean safe work area.
  • Assemble and set up new equipment and attachments.
  • Process warranty work
  • Load and unload equipment

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or GED certificate
  • Certification highly desired for Exmark, Cub Cadet, Kioti Tractor, Kohler, Briggs & Statton and Kawasaki
  • 3 years minimum experience with gas and diesel repair
  • Manual dexterity
  • Welding experience preferred.
  • Strong computer skills to navigate online parts and diagrams.
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Ability to lift, push, pull 70 lbs

Service Writer

The service writer will be responsible for being the main contact for all service customers. Ensuring that all service work is entered, scheduled, and accurately documented in the computer system. Present a friendly, positive attitude to all customers. Listen carefully to their questions and concerns and provide a timely response. Communicate directly with mechanics regarding customer needs and repairs. Contact customers by phone or text to give updates on cost, time estimates and warranties. Parts look-up and stage parts for technician.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 2 years experience in a retail setting specifically with power equipment if possible
  • Excellent verbal communication, problem-solving and listening skills
  • Good organizational skills and multi-tasking
  • Knowledgeable in computer applications and industry-specific software
  • Ability to lift, push and pull up to 70lbs plus work indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions

PARTS COUNTER PERSON

The parts counter person is responsible for assisting the parts manager with inventory of the parts department. They will order parts as necessary for use in-store and direct purchase by customers. Accuracy and attention to detail are a must. The parts counter person will assist with updating pricing on parts as needed and add new parts to the inventory system. The parts manager and parts counter person will interact with and be the primary point-of-contact for our small engine parts distributors.

The parts counter person will handle face-to-face customer interactions and assist service technicians. This includes parts look up, order/receive, and sell parts to customers; answering customer phone calls, looking for parts information and shop inquiries; as well as checking in equipment that is brought in for repair. Courtesy towards customers and careful listening are top priority.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 2 years parts experience in outdoor power equipment retail setting
  • Excellent mechanical aptitude with zero turns and riding mowers
  • Knowledge of 2 cycle and 4 cycle required.
  • Strong computer skills to navigate various online parts search and online ordering.
  • Familiar with parts look-up and Ideal computer systems or equivalent
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Ability to lift 60 lbs

This position is full time Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm with weekends and over time available. Compensation is based on experience.
